The EU’s Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency has launched a call for €600m ($664m) in funding from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for Energy towards key cross-border infrastructure.

The EU last year signed into law its sixth list of Projects of Common Interest (energy infrastructure linking two or more EU member states) and Projects of Mutual Interest (between EU and non-EU countries), which included 65 hydrogen projects.
The developers of these projects are eligible for a binding three-and-a-half-year time limit on permitting, as well as being able to tap funds either from the CEF or their host member states.
