Welcome to the IPCEI Hydrogen website!


IPCEI Hydrogen is aimed at innovation as well as demonstration and deployment of hydrogen technology. IPCEI Hydrogen consists of four combined clusters of projects from more than half of the European Union member states and from Norway. The projects take place in the complete value chain of hydrogen: production, import, transportation as well as end use.

Since May 2024, all four IPCEIs have been notified by the European Commission under State Aid rules. The IPCEI are called (in order of notification) Hy2Tech, Hy2Use, Hy2Infra and Hy2Move. These four IPCEIs combined consist of almost 125 notified projects. The projects can be considered as large projects as the project budget range spans from several million euros to several hundreds of millions euros per project.

Following the completion of pre-engineering studies (pre-FEED), the BarMar hydrogen pipeline project, which will connect Spain and France, is entering the front-end engineering design (FEED) phase, set to confirm the technical viability and final design of the subsea infrastructure.
