H2Silesia

Polenergia H2Silesia sp. z o.o. is a subsidiary of Polenergia S.A., which is the largest Polish private energy group specializing in the development and operation of renewable energy sources. Polenergia H2Silesia is responsible for managing the complete process of the H2Silesia project. Polenergia Group is developing 2.1 GW renewable energy sources in wind and solar onshore projects in Poland and up to 3 GW in offshore wind farms developed on the Baltic Sea in partnership with Equinor.

The main objective of H2Silesia is to provide RFNBO to accelerate the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industries in Poland. Although the industry is recognised as the primary beneficiary of the offtake, the project also considers mobility use to decarbonize the Polish fleet of trucks and buses that is one of the biggest in the European Union. The project aims to produce over 10,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen per year through the use of electrolysers with a capacity above 100 MW.
