The new facility in Piła is the second of its kind in the Wielkopolska region. It follows an agreement for Orlen to provide the local municipal transport company with 219,000 kilograms of hydrogen fuel. The station is equipped to serve both public transit buses and individual passenger vehicles.

The site is equipped with dual pressure dispensers and has a daily capacity of 480 kilograms. This allows for the refuelling of roughly 10 buses and 30 cars every 24 hours. The facility is open 24/7.

The project was supported by over 2 million euros in EU funding. It represents a single phase in a larger initiative to build 16 additional stations across Poland. Orlen recently secured a further 62 million euros in non-repayable EU grants to expedite this expansion.
