Topsoe opens Europe’s biggest SOEC plant
Topsoe has inaugurated Europe’s largest Solid Oxide Electrolyser Cell manufacturing facility in Herning, Denmark.
The company said the 500MW plant will produce high-efficiency SOEC stacks for industrial-scale green hydrogen projects, with scope to scale further.
Topsoe added that the factory represents its biggest investment to date and is backed by €94m from the EU Innovation Fund.
The company said the facility is designed to support decarbonisation of heavy industry, noting that hard-to-abate sectors account for about 30% of global CO₂ emissions.
